Wackiest Career Options

Growing up, I have numerous career options. It's not because I'm so good at many things, not at all. The truth is my family expects me to be this and that. My parents urge me to be an engineer. "Why don't you follow my trail?" says my uncle who's a doctor. Meanwhile, my aunt suggests a career in journalism. Another aunt asks whether I'm interested in product design. What do I choose?

I take a deep breath. Let my mind float away while surfing on the web. Out of nowhere, I stumble upon the unthinkable. Seriously, it's the first time I think about my future career without getting jittery. Thanks to J!NX and its Career Opportunities tee shirt (£17.99 - £18.99), I feel lightweight now. Minion Queenmob as the designer illustrates a series of wacky career options. Check it out!

Some are normal professions, like Mad Scientist and Doctor. We can skip that and get to the more challenging ones, such as Pirate, Ninja, Luchador, and Superhero. Even further, it feeds on our wildest dreams of becoming immortal: Robot, Zombie, Mummy, and Vampire. Sick, isn't it? And the craziest option will be the Bacteria!

Of course, this career guide is nothing sort of possible. I'm just happy that it refreshes my deadlock for a moment. And as a bonus, it surely serves well as a costume guide :D

Po-Po-Po-Poker Hands

There's this cousin of mine who turns out to be a poker master. He's got that poker face, he deceives his oppponents. That's why I prefer not to play against him. It's much more interesting to play in his team. He teaches me good stuff :D

Royal Flush.
Straight Flush.
Four of a Kind.
Full House.
Flush.
Straight.
Three of a Kind.
Two Pair.
One Pair.
High Card.

I'm still learning to handle the stack of cards, though. I also practice to mimic my cousin's poker face. Still I haven't got it right. The next cool stuff that I aim is the poker tee shirt. Designed by SnorgTees, the Poker Hands ($19.95) helps me remember different kinds of card combination. Or so I hope, my opponents will lose focus while pronouncing those names over my tee shirt. Haha!

No Caps Lock, Please

Online communication can be very tricky. Minus non-verbal body language, most of the time we rely on texts. And if you don't know better, texts alone can be misleading. One of the worst yet the most common mistakes that people make is typing in ALL CAPS (see what I mean?).

It happens in e-mails, blogs, chat rooms, even Twitter. And you know what? People make assumptions when they read something that's entirely capitalized. If you enjoy writing in all caps, people might think you do it over one of these reasons:

  • You're yelling
  • You're trying to demand attention
  • You're no tech-savvy
  • You're immature
  • You're lazy
  • You're trying to be a rebel

Need a further explanation? Read the whole story on What People Think When You Type in All Caps.

Got it? So next time, be kind to your fellow readers and think again before you hit that Caps Lock button. If you need a constant reminder, Cotton Factory is ready with the Caps Lock tee shirt ($18). They said that turning on the Caps Lock is equal to UNLEASH THE FURY. You don't really want that, do you?

Let's build a more civilized online community.
This is a gentle reminder: No Caps Lock, please.

Act according to the netiquette.
Otherwise there will be a harsh warning: NO CAPS LOCK, PLEASE!

When I Was a Kid, I Used to Deliver Papers

Woke up this morning, checked out the front porch. "Where's my paper?"

Uh-oh, it was among the bushes. And it was soggy. Oh c'mon! It must have been the new paperboy. Can't he just make a soft landing? Somewhere clean and dry, the way I want my daily reading.

Next time I see him, I'll challenge him for the battle of paper-delivery. I bet I'll beat him. Fair and square, within Paperboy- the video game :D

Not to boast, but I was pretty good at the game. Call me papergirl! I used to play it everytime I come to my cousin's house. Paperboy was a cool and challenging game. It's funny that just now I found Paperboy again. Of course, the way I see Paperboy now is 20-years-different with how I remembered it back then.

When I played Paperboy as a kid, it looked just fine. But playing it again now, I started to wonder, "Was it really this simple? I thought the graphics was sophisticated." It was, in its era. And it wouldn't be fair to compare such technology, now and then. Instead, let's just relive the past and don't give too much thought. You know what, the game itself is no less fun!

To recelebrate how much I love Paperboy, I got myself a tee shirt from SnorgTees. One that says "When I Was a Kid the World Looked Like This". Yep, the Paperboy world looked so simple. Yet it got me addicted. As soon as I finish writing this, I guess I'll be back playing the game ;)

Bone Tees-n-Harmony

Can you remember all the bones we have in our bodies? No? Well, what did you do during biology class, really? But I don’t blame you. A typical adult body has 206 bones so it might be hard to remember them all. What surprising is an infant has more bones than we adult do! You wanna know the total bones in an infant? There are 270 altogether. With that so many bones, no wonder babies need to drink lots and lots of milk. We do too.

Now if you really want to recall the 206 parts of human skeleton, you can go here or you can go to a bookstore and purchase a human skeleton diagram. If you’re too busy to do that yet still eager to look smart, then look no further ‘cause Etsy has something for you. Skeleton Diagram Biology tee ($16.00) displays just about 12 bones. That’s enough for you, right? But hurry, last time I checked, there’s only 1 tee left available.

The tee is in unisex standard size and it only comes in jet black. The design is screenprinted manually in bright white ink. Really suits the human skeleton theme, don’t you think? Or maybe you’d prefer a neon pink or pastel green human skeleton?

And another fascinating phenomenon about the human skeleton is that it’s always a classic (if not outdated) costume for Halloween. Now tell me, how many of you wear that kind of custome for this year’s scarefest?

I Like Wikipedia

So, my lecturer asked me to make a paper about History. He gave me three days for doing it. Fiuh, it’s good, you know, to know that there is always a website that’ll help you write papers. Not one paper, you could make like hundreds of papers for hundreds lecturer. That is Wikipedia. Oh, How I love the site.

Three days later I’m back. I give the paper to my lecturer. I wrote about the World War. I wrote that the First World War was a military conflict centered on Europe. It began in 1914. It’s triggered by the assasination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria. I wrote about World War II that was lasting from 1939-1945. Great. My paper contains 20 pages. Almost all of them from Wikipedia. Yay.

Ups, Of Course I didn’t tell my lecturer that those are from Wikipedia. Last year I did it, I got F. Failed. Err. I’m gonna give the lecturer a piece of this tee. This year, I should be smarter. You know, There are some citations on the site. Again, I like Wikipedia. You always can make stuff up.

Feel the same? Wear I like Wikipedia T-Shirt from headlineshirts. The price is only $15.

Last, Do You know that Kangaroo has wing that developed later in their life? :D

Bioshoelogy

How about having a fun lesson. I called it Bioshoelogy. It focuses on the anatomy of one of ladies bestest buddies. The one that sometimes cause them pain but always able to boost their confidence level. The High Heels.

High heel is a footwear type that raises the heel of the wearer's foot significantly higher than the toes. As I said previously, it forces the wearer to stand on tiptoes, so with bad anatomy it can cause the wearer pain. From toes to head. But beauty is pain isn’t it? Although it is realized that using high heels is bad for your health; they can cause foot pain, they can create foot deformities, using high heels is having some good points from the aesthetic side; they change the wearer's posture, they make the wearer appear taller, they make the legs appear longer.

Apparently, as the expert says, the bad result of using high heels can be minimized by chosing the right shoes. The one that fits your foot perfectly. That’s the reason behind the bioshoelogy. Knowing high heels anatomy to help you choose the appropriate shoes.

There’s no book about Bioshoelogy. But Redbuble, the one that concern about bioshoelogy, provide us with this Shoe's Anatomy tee. The tee shows the figure of a high heels and the note of it important pain causable points. Clearly enough to guide you ladies on choosing the good high heels. Available on 13 custom color, the tee is sold by $27.93. Buying 4 T-Shirts gets you FREE SHIPPING.

So ladies if you want to learn any further of bioshoelogy, this tee is perfect for you. Wisely choose your high heels ladies. Be beautiful and stay healthy.

Anthem to (Literally) Heavy Metal

Remember when the music was so loud, it made the fillings in your teeth rattle out? Never got you wondering why it's called Heavy Metal. It just does rock hard. Harder than Rock.

Those of you metalheads must have dozens of band tee shirts already. From Deep Purple to Iron Maiden, Aerosmith to Megadeth, Sepultura to Korn. You name them all! But this time it's something different from ThinkGeek

Prepare yourself for a rendition of heavy metals- as in the chemical elements! The Heavy Metal tee is 100% cotton heavyweight black tee with white and red depictions of 11 heavy metals. Oh don't you worry about being too geeky. These chemical elements are doodled in the style of metal bands logos. Lead reminds you of AC/DC's lead vocalist screaming "Highway to Hell", while the theatrical spirit of Metallica is brought up by Manganese. Molybdenum looks almost exactly like Ministry, and you can see the Misfits' horror image in Cadmium

I'm gonna leave the other 7 elements for you to solve. Shouldn't be hard if you're a true metalhead, or a chemistry geek, or both. Whoever you are, proclaim your die-hard love to heavy metals (either the music or the elements) with this masterpiece of a tee shirt! The price varies according to size: $15.99 (S-XL), $16.99 (XXL), and #17.99 (XXXL).

You do, indeed, rock.

Guess What, I Can Make Your Nose Looked Vacuumed

Do you have any idea why they call it fisheye? Well, That’s the first question i asked when I know this kind of camera. Is it because the camera looks like fisheye? Or camera with the eye like fish? Camera only for fish? Suddenly a school of fish pass on my mind and they taking a picture of each other. Err.

Apparently this Lomographic camera with fisheye lens has a wide-angle lens that takes in an extremely wide, hemispherical image. Imagine you can see everything around you compacted into a nice bubble. Your sister’s nose vacuumed into your lens. It feels like you see everything with a glass bowl in front of your eyes. Like a fish eye!! Ah.. that’s the why..

I browse some tips for fisheye camera. There are lots of discussions. But... here is the best tip I found: Just forget about the rules, push the boundaries, cross the film, color the lights, and generally do whatever it takes to tease the most inspiring images possible out of your little Lomographic beastie. Hmm, guess I can do that. Play with the camera and see how it turns into. The world will never be the same. The pictures taken by this camera has the unique effect. It’s really like looking at the picture with a bowl on top of it.

Like the picture in this tee ($28.00). A picture of the San Francisco Giants in the 2010 Playoffs printed in American Apparel. These Thriving Ink’s shirts is limited to 10 prints only!! And that’s the shirt I wanna wear when I play with my fisheye camera.

Science Rock!

You a science lover? Then, you must know xkcd, the famous yet funny comic blog about math and science. All the geeky things.

You know, speaking of science we usually think about experiments. And thinking about geeks doing experiments sometimes we imagine explosive experiments. Haha, I know it’s exaggerated but that the funny side of geeks in xkcd.

Now for you, xkcd lover, thinkgeek has added the new shirt in their xkcd tees collection. The design named “Stand Back (Science)” . It is in black colored with a little white figure holding out a flask in right hand, and a calculator in the other. It says “Stand back! I’m going to try science!”. Wait, try science? The designer could have choose “do” or “perform”. But no, it says “Try”. “Try” is quite unsure for a science experiment. Wise man said “Do or do not! There is no try”.

Yeah, science rock. But better be wise by preparing fire extinguisher near you. You don’t try science at home. Try it at the lab… Or somebody’s home. And don’t forget the googles too.

You can have the tee with $19.99 price. You can wear it at the lab, or somewhere. See how girls will be around you. Don’t you know, now geek is the new sexy.

Down, Lower Right, Right, Punch: Haduken!

If you claim yourself as a real gamer, I bet you know about Street Fighter. You don’t know it, your claim isn’t valid then. The game designed firstly by Takashi Nishiyama and Hiroshi Matsumoto in 1987. Since about 20 years ago, the game never end. The last version is Street Fighter IV launched on last April for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.

I’ve played the game since 15 years ago. I completed the game the first time I played in Sega console. Notes, I completed the game with only one combination of joypad. It’s down, lower right, right and punch combination. It’s haduken! Ryu’s special attack. There is another special attack called shoryuken but I wasn’t interested.

In japanesse neologism haduken literally means “wave motion fist” or “surge fist”, while shoryuken means “rising dragon fist”. In Street Fighter, I interpret as fireball achieved by thrusting the game-character’s palm forward, sending a surge of spirit energi, sending a “chi blast” to the enemies. That’s why it could be blast off the enemies even in a long range, as in the other move needs the character to be close enough with the enemies. That’s why I love using this attack. And speaking of Haduken, for you who claim as a gamer, I bet you’ll love this haduken shirt from nerdyshirt. With $19.97, this tee is for you who sat inside all summer long playing Street Fighter.

Oh yes, I also like Dalsim’s Yoga-moves.

It's Optimus Prime!

Future is not about vampires, or warewolf: it's about Robot. And to think about robot, is to think about Optimus Prime. This leader of Autobot is a great figure to be talked. He has all the abilities and manners, a good robot should have.

Prime from planet Cybertron, he would destroy the evil forces of the Decepticons. He is depicted as a heroic, brave and compassionate character who puts all his talent to use to improve the universe around him. Optimus has a strong sense of justice and righteousness, and has dedicated himself to the protection of all life, particularly the inhabitants of Earth; he will battle his foes with unyielding resolve.

The original Optimus Prime transforms into a cab over truck as a daily form. The truck's cab transforms into the robot mode of Prime himself, with vast strength and armed with a laser rifle. Contained within his chest is the mystic talisman known as the Autobot Matrix of Leadership (or Creation Matrix, depending on the continuity), carried by all Autobot leaders and passed down through the ages. Optimus Prime Character first shown on 1984 story book "Return to Cyberton" by Marvel Book. As a remaining of the first appearence of Optimus prime, this wonderful tee was created ($24).

A fans of Optimus Prime? or maybe transformer crew? Well then this vintage-effect Optimus Prime 84 Transformers tee from 80s Tees should be yours. Grab it Now folks.

That is Sarcasm, For God Sake!

Your neighbor has this piece of property which she quite erroneously refers to as a home. It's not a home; it's a swirling vortex of entropy. And since she sleeps like the dead (and has a snoring problem that really needs medical attention), she shouldn't mind you cleaning it. Who wouldn't want to wake up to perfectly organized closets and ironed underthings? So when your roommate floats the idea of sneaking over and shampooing said neighbor's carpet, it seems perfectly logical. Why not? The carpet IS dirty and probably teeming with bacteria. What? He was being sarcastic? How were YOU supposed to know? Maybe he should have been wearing this shirt.

This tag shirt ($15.99 - $17.99) and pointing at the sarcasm sign printed on this tee everytime you speak something sarcastic. This tee created by Think Geek provides a friendly start tag on the front and a end tag on the back of a black 100% cotton t-shirt. As if it's going to help you, that have a difficulties like Sheldon in the Big Bang Theory Serial TV.

Leonard: Yes! For God's sake, Sheldon, do I have to hold up a "sarcasm" sign every time I open my mouth?
Sheldon: You have a sarcasm sign?
Leonard: No, I do not have a sarcasm sign.

But, I do have a sarcasm tag shirt! :D
